CALM2
Associated conditions:
- Arrhythmia
CALM2 makes calmodulin, a calcium sensor that fine-tunes the ion channels controlling each heartbeat. Genetic changes in this gene are associated with an autosomal dominant risk of severe inherited arrhythmias such as long QT syndrome and Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), which can trigger fainting or sudden cardiac arrest. Knowing your genetic status enables early diagnosis and rhythm protection that are lifesaving.

Arrhythmia
An arrhythmia is an abnormal heart rhythm. Inherited forms can cause fast, irregular or dangerous rhythms and, rarely, sudden collapse, so carriers benefit from heart-rhythm testing, sometimes medication, and avoiding specific triggers.
